Updating the Art World: The Artists of Instagram

Instagram is a platform that can be used to promote influencers, brands, and emerging artists. Artists on Instagram have the newfound ability to reach an audience beyond the institution through an accessible platform, giving the artists a popularized audience. The impact of displaying popularized art in a museum creates the narrative that art created for a social media platform is as equally important as art made for a museum. The artists presented were all chosen in order to show the full range of styles that can become popular on Instagram.
